Hi guys,

So I'm working with Strompi3 and every time the battery empties completely and I try to charge again through Wide, the charging LEDs do not light up and I think the system does not even charge.

StromPi-Mode: Wide -> Battery

I need to open the equipment and charge it via USB first to actually start charging again. Afterwards wide starts to works also.

Other questions:

If the mode is Wide -> Battery, why does it even charge through USB?

Does it mean, that I need to had a ancillary system to also charge by USB but take Wide as priority?

This behaviour is not normal. The battery should also charge via the wide input.

To narrow down the error, you can take the following steps:

• Check the jumper settings on the StromPi. In particular, the Flash jumper (OFF) and the AUTO jumper (ON).


• Restart the StromPi microcontroller by removing all power sources and the CAP jumper for a few seconds.


• Check the configuration of your StromPi again.


• If all these steps do not help, try installing the latest firmware on the StromPi again. Instructions for this and the current firmware can be found in our download directory.

If the error still persists, we unfortunately have to assume that there is a hardware defect on the StromPi3. In this case, you can exchange the device at your retailer.
